Fashion Show Invite - 2011 Summer Fashion - Girl Fashion Design. Fashion Show Invite
Flavor Paper Fashion Show, Silver Metallic Basket Weave Hat made by Ann Marie Popko from Flavor Paper Wallpaper I was invited to participate in a fashion show at a wallpaper factory in New Orleans. Flavor Paper makes the most beautiful wallpaper and they gave a small group of New Orleans designers some scraps which we used to create hats, accessories and garments. It was an interesting challenge (I had never worked with paper as a hat-making medium before.) It just goes to show what a creative challenge can produce. The 16 foot long wallpaper printing press was our runway, stretched with silver metallic paper (which they use as a base for many of their designs) and the models came onto the runway from an elevator lift, from the 2nd floor dressing room! It was really dramatic and the crowd loved it. Model at the Spring Fling Fashion Show (IMG 4813a) In April 2011 I was invited to shoot a fashion show which was part of a Spring Fling Woman's Show in Anchorage, Alaska. I guess they couldn't find any quality photographers! The show was fun - it was sponsored by Run to the Sun, a local boutique that specializes in swimwear and tanning. Michelle, the owner, always finds some very lovely models, most of them with little experience but they did quite well and it was a great show.
